About John Sallustio:
Dear Fellow Theatre-Lover and Prospective Partner,
I have been in over fifty productions and events and have won awards as a playwright, actor, and stand-up comedian. I consider myself an entertainer rather than any one of the three. When you see one of my plays or read one of my scripts, that becomes obvious.
My plays are not your traditional types of plays. While they do tell a story, they have the entertainment of the audience first and foremost in mind, and allows the cast and crew to have fun in the process. Also, I never believed that an audience should buy a ticket and just sit in the audience while the play is going on. My plays do break the fourth wall (in a very non-threatening, participate-if-you-want-to way) and creates more of an experience rather than an event. “A Play Gets Murdered” and “A Little Ditty About Jacques and Diane” have both played to sold out shows at various local theaters. And, because of their success, I am looking to share these plays with schools and community theatres (both plays are PG rated and neither has any objectionable material. I am proud that families can enjoy coming to the theatre and seeing my shows together as a shared experience).
If you decide to go with one, or both of my plays, I will send you the appropriate number of scripts, a list of ideas that you can incorporate into the plays based on past experience, and access to me with any questions that you have regarding casting, set design (both plays can be done as either as basic black box set or as elaborate as you want to go), etc.
When I was very young, I learned two facts that have stayed with me my entire life: laughter is universal, and people cannot laugh and think about their problems at the same time. Knowing that I have made people laugh means more to me than getting rich from my plays. That is why I am offering my plays for only $250 each, scripts included. (Short, one-act versions are also available).
I hope you enjoy reading through them. Email me if interested and with any questions that you may have. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
John Sallustio
